For reading we have been learning to summarising the text.We have done this by  using who,what,where,when,why and how questions the book we were reading was called Simple solution it was about a truck that was stuck.

Post Card

In writing we have been learning to think about the writers point of view. we are reading the book "The Faraway Tree" by Enid Blyton in class. The book about a little girl called Connie whose mother is ill so she is sent to live with her mothers friend and her childrenJo,Bessie and Franny. The children show her the Faraway Tree and to begin with she doesn't belive them.

We have been talking about how Connie might have felt and what she would have said to her mother. We decided to write a post card from Connie to her mother,trying to think about what Connie would say.

I found it hard to type it all up.

I found it easy to think like Connie.

Next time i need to work on doing it faster.  

Story Telling

During our Te Tuhi workshop "Creative Stoy" we learnt about the different way's a story can be told.We explored our story "Quaky cat ''through  role play and then created our own poster.

I found it hard to cut out the shap's.

I found it easy to use vivit.

Next time I need to work on cuting out the shaps.

Volume Challenge

For maths week, we have been learning about measurement.Yesterday we talked about volume.We learnt that to work out the volume of a shape you use length,with and height.Our challenge was to work in pairs and  use the unlink cubes to make as many different creations  as we could, with a volume of 8. I found it easy to build the creations. I found it tricky to decide which ones to build. Next time I need to work on deciding which shapes to do.

Blended Giraffe

I had to practice using different line and blending techniques to create a realistic looking giraffe. I found it easy to follow the teachers instructions to create the giraffe shape. It was difficult to keep all the parts in perspective. Next time I will try harder to use blending to show dark and light.

The Daintree Rainforest

We are learning to identify what the author wanted me to feel,think or see.

We had to make this to make people save the Daintree Rainforest. 

It was easy to draw a poster.

It was hard to fit the group in with the boys.

Next time I will try to fit in with our group and use more facts to show our opinion.

Solving Fraction Problems

I was learning to solve fraction problems using addition and multiplication strategies.We had to use
kid pix to show how we solved our problems. I found it easy because I pracitice multiplication.One thing I did well was try next time. I did well try hard to use multiplication.
